Home Safe, Sound and Sober from Rehab
Dear John and Jane,
I made it home safe and sound. I started getting really anxious sitting in the airport waiting for my plane. My mind was racing, I had this compulsion to drink which I had never experienced before. The familiar feeling that did arise was the compulsion to buy five or six chocolate bars. Anyways, I made it through safe and sound. I immediately took out my Big Book put it front of me and asked God to lead me through those moments. I journaled like crazy and God led me out of the hole. From that moment on yesterday I was fine.
I was met at the airport with love so large I can’t describe. I was very grateful for my meeting last night though. After I experienced what I did in the airport, it was great to go and share my experience. It is a very small group and I got a chance to talk with most people after. I recommend to everyone else that they attend a meeting within hours of getting home. It was defiantly the medicine I needed. I am meeting my AA contact today and heading to my first “nooner”. I am excited!
Thanks again.
